Peter George Photography operates under a CASA Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operator’s Certificate (ReOC), with Peter holding a Remote Pilot Licence (RePL). Night drone operations can be conducted under the operator’s documented night procedures, with a trained and tested remote pilot, an operational risk assessment, appropriate risk controls and required training, testing and operational records.
Closer perspectives, carefully planned
Where the operator’s documented procedures and risk controls allow, flights can take place closer than 30 m, down to a minimum horizontal separation of 15 m from a consenting person. Flying closer than 15 m, or within 30 m without consent, requires CASA approval.
All flights remain subject to applicable airspace restrictions, weather, location-specific requirements, safety assessments and any additional approvals. ReOC certification does not permit unrestricted flying or automatic permission to fly over people or crowds.
